About the Author


The photographer from São Paulo Fabio Colombini, 59, has been registering with great technical quality the rich biodiversity of Brazil’s fauna and flora. He graduated in architecture at the São Paulo University, and has coursed Publicity and Advertisement at the Communications and Arts School at the São Paulo University. Autodidact in photography, he professionalized himself 35 years ago, doing productions specialized on nature. He has an ample archive of images, made on expeditions on the brazilian ecosystems.
On his work, the strong graphic character, reconciling art and science. His pictures illustrate more than 8,800 books (artistic, institutional, didactic, paradidactic and digital media), 140 calendars of big corporations, and countless guides, as well as national and international magazines, participating on 86 expositions. He released the first nature photography guide of the brazilian nature and has more than 88,000 photos published.
Among his received prizes, the ones that stand out are the one from the Organization of the American States, SOS Mata Atlântica Foundation, World Calendar Awards (Illinois – USA), and National Geographic Channel. In 2011, He received the Green Prize of the Américas-Greenmeeting, for the contribution of the development and environment preservation through his pictures. In 2015 received the most important Brazilian literary award, Premio Jabuti, with the book People of the sea. In 2016 he was finalist in the Siena International Photo Awards, in Italy
